Paper Bags or Sheets...

With the Christmas tree situated in the living room I remember trying to come downstairs to go to the washroom...and hopefully sneak a peak at the gifts that Santa left. Or on the other hand, having to wait until we got home from Christmas Mass at St. Teresa's. There was at least one time when they didn't have the sheet up in time so they put a brown paper bag over my head. Way before the days of the unknown comic!!

The Christmas Tree Trek

How come we put up our Christmas trees so early? I faintly remember trekking up to either the Tischart's on Lancaster or walking with Maureen to the corner of Lancaster and Victoria to bring one back on a toboggan. Stephanie tells me that they would often wait until Christmas eve to put up their tree.
And then there was the joy of putting the tree up...I'm still recovering from those experiences. As Larry recently told me...holding the tree up while Dad tightened the screws or fastened it to the window was worth a lifetime of memories.

Christmas Memories

I created this blog so that Flynn family members can recount their Christmas memories. Here's a video to kick it off!
